TRUCKERS IN TRAINING
TRAINING VIDEO SERIES
Truck driving is a hard science. To help truckers-in-training learn the rules of the road, we developed a video training series for the CDL (Commercial Driver's License) exam. Imagine going from 0 to 60mph, but by memorizing 150 parts on a tractor-trailer rig. We produced a video series that gets there using all our tricks of the trade.
HOW WE DID IT
Our client, a truck driver training school, helps drivers jump-start their careers with a rapid, comprehensive CDL course. Like most of our clients, it was expert meets expert. We know video, they know trucks. Following our proven production process, Silverback producers worked with experts at the trucking school to determine their video need and plot a plan of action. A highly-detailed inspection of all the working parts of a tractor-trailer truck was in order: inside, outside, over, under, and through!
What started as a script quickly took shape as we captured live footage on-location at the trucking school during pre-production. This was finessed by Silverback’s editors, sound engineers, and animators during post-production. 3D animation was the perfect solution to easily demonstrate hard-to-see parts.
The resulting series of videos will be presented in classroom sessions, online, and via mobile. It provides an essential tool that trains the drivers of today.
